Artist Statement
My artistic practice sits at the intersection of creative expression and social justice, focusing on the multidimensional experiences of African women.
Working primarily with oil on canvas, I draw from personal experiences growing up in rural Nigeria to portray themes of strength, resilience, struggle, and silent triumphs.
Through bold colour, expressive forms, and culturally resonant imagery, my work amplifies voices often marginalized by societal norms. By bridging art and advocacy, my practice challenges stereotypes, fosters empathy, and invites critical reflection across diverse audiences.
I view art as both a catalyst for change and a space for dialogue, aiming to contribute to cultural discourse, support women’s rights advocacy, and promote inclusive storytelling locally and globally.
